We're cleaning up SaaS Browser. From 2 November 2026, we will only add a new SaaS by ourselves when its website has a domain rating of 5 or more.

If you want your SaaS in SaaS Browser, you can still submit it for free, whatever its domain rating. This change is only about the SaaS we find on our own.

A domain rating is a score from 0 to 100. It shows how many other websites link to a site, and how strong those websites are. A brand new website usually starts at 0. We use the ratings from checkdomainrating.com.

A rating of 5 is not hard to get

We want to be clear about this, because 5 is a low bar. You don't need a big marketing team or years of work. A few links from decent websites is usually enough. A mention on a blog in your field, a listing on a good directory, a guest post, or a write-up from a happy customer will get most SaaS there.

If your SaaS has a rating below 5 today, it is not shut out. Once a few real websites link to it, we will find it.

We never imagined this many SaaS

When we started SaaS Browser, we never thought we would see a world with this many new SaaS. New ones launch all day, every day. AI has made it very easy to vibe code an app in a weekend.

Here is how many new SaaS we found each month over the past year:

Chart of new SaaS found each month, from about 1,000 in September 2025 to around 30,000 in August 2026

In many ways, that is wonderful. But most of these new SaaS never get a single user, sadly. Many are side projects built by people with day jobs, who had an idea at work and built it that evening. A few weeks later, a lot of them stop being updated.

Why we're doing this

SaaS Browser is built for a few kinds of people. When the directory fills up with very early SaaS, it gets hard to give any of them real value:

  • Buyers have to dig through thousands of half-finished apps to find one tool that works.
  • Founders with real products get buried under weekend projects.
  • Marketers doing outreach end up emailing founders who have already moved on.
  • Investors and researchers lose the real trends in all the noise.
  • Developers looking at tech stacks see data skewed by apps nobody uses.

There is a cost to us too. We spend real money on AI to describe, sort and check every SaaS we add. When most of those SaaS never get a user, that money is wasted.

And very early SaaS are hard to earn money from. We tried offering directory submissions, help planning and running a launch, and website analytics. None of them paid off, which is fair, because very early founders usually have no budget.

A new filter for junk

Being early is one problem. Being junk is another. Some of the websites we find call themselves SaaS but are something else: pirated streaming, betting, scams, adult sites, "undress" deepfake apps, cracked software and video downloaders. A domain rating doesn't catch these. Some of them have high ratings, because they get a lot of links.

So we built our own junk filter. It reads a SaaS's homepage and gives it a junk score from 0 to 1. We trained it on more than 17,000 profiles that we checked by hand and sorted into kinds of junk, such as piracy, gambling, scams and adult content.

We built it because junk hurts everyone who uses SaaS Browser. Buyers should not have to step around scams to find a good tool. Honest founders should not sit next to piracy sites in a category list. And search engines judge a whole website by its worst pages, so a few hundred junk profiles can pull down every good profile with them.

Every published profile now gets a junk score, and developers can see it in our API.

The junk filter is a work in progress. We are still checking its results by hand. Once we trust it, we will use it to hide junk from search engines. We will keep teaching it with more examples, and over time we expect it to make search results on SaaS Browser more and more relevant.

What changes

We will check fewer websites, but better ones. We keep a list of every website with a domain rating of 5 or more, and check each one for a SaaS every six months. Websites that reach a rating of 5 for the first time get checked first, within about a month.

So fewer new SaaS will appear in SaaS Browser each day. You will see the "new SaaS" numbers drop in the SaaS Industry Report from 2 November. That drop is on purpose.

What stays the same

Every SaaS already in SaaS Browser stays in the search index for now. And founders can still add their own SaaS for free, whatever its domain rating.

We think this makes SaaS Browser better for everyone: less junk, and good tools that are easier to find.
